My Artwork
My artwork is comprised of pure abstractions and figurative abstractions. The use of the figure allows me a point of triangulation, so that as I sail on the waves of creativity I do not sail too far off course. Even my pure abstractions have a point of reference. It could be the roots of a woodcut or the idea that fire and water can work together to form something harmonious.
Tapping into the Energy Behind the Creation
The following is a collection of some of my work from the last 10 years. They are a variety of pure abstractions and figurative abstractions. They could be considered mixed media, however there are some that were born of printmaing methods, others have a drawing heritage, and others fall more into the realm of painting.
They consist of all kinds of materials: wood, paper, Yupo, canvas, plexi-glass, paint (watercolour, oil, & acrylic), ink (printmaking & drawing), woodcuts and intaglio impressions, fire and water, graphite, charcoal, carbon, water soluble wax crayon, marker, steel wool, wood, and all sorts of obtainium.

Something Tender This Way Comes
The following works are part of an on going series were I am playing with spontaneity, intuition, tender tangibility, and the freedom to see where the mark on the page takes me. I use pen and ink, bottle ink, fingers and thumbs, designer's white, and canary tracing paper. They range in size from around an inch to five by seven inches. I started them in the summer of 2020 and continue to work on them.
Key Stones
The following works are part of an on going series were I am playing with control, entropy, meditation, reflection, and contemplation. I am using alphanumeric stencils and adhesive to create closed and open forms. One path for this body of work is as an installation. I started them in the fall of 2019 and continue to work on them.
INK FIGURES
The following are a series of figurative abstract drawings. They are all done with ink, fingers and thumbs, pen and ink, ink bottle-syringes, and bamboo dip pen. They all spontaneous, immediate, and fast, with some taking only a few seconds to complete. They range in size from around a few inches to five by seven inches. They were all done with the use of a live nude models between the spring of 2012 and the fall of 2014.
I have an expansive and ever growing knowledge of all kinds of materials (wood, paper, Yupo, canvas, plexi-glass, paint (watercolour, oil, & acrylic), ink (printmaking & drawing), and ways in which to use them. I have been drawing and painting since I was born. I am an accomplished drawer, painter, printmaker (I specialize in woodcuts and intaglio) and bookmaker.
