My Builds
I have over ten years of experience as a preparator (including being a professional artist) installing exhibitions, building frames, shadow boxes, framing and mating artwork, designing and building vitrines for dimensional artwork, and logistics.
I also design, engineer, and build drafting tables, easels, work tables, ergonomic computer desks (that tilt and can be raised up and down), and other studio and art related furniture.

Vitrine for Tibetan Tapestry
This an example of one of the vitrines I custom designed and built while I was the Manager of the University of North Dakota's Art Collection.
The tapestry is very delicate and is held securely and safely in the vitrine with handmade clips I designed and build specifically for this artwork.

Vitrine for Red Grooms
Here is an example of a special display I custom designed and built while I was the Manager of the University of North Dakota's Art Collection.
The artwork was a last minute addition to an exhibition. But not to worry, I think fast on my feet and always keep my wits about me.

Studio Flat File
A recent creation to help organize my small studio. Here is the finished result and some images of my creative process. I like to use tracing paper (canary yellow and white) to work out my ideas. I have a favorite sketchbook and fountain pen and pencil that I always carry with me.
L.E.D. Lamps
The L.E.D. Desk Lamps are made with: daylight balanced L.E.D. light strips, (two strips for each lamp), scrap wood (aspen, oak, and 5/16” plywood), and stainless steel hardware.
They are plugged into a power/spike bar that is attached to the left-hand underside front of the table (not pictured) so I can turn both of the lights on and off easily.

Flat File Tables
I designed and built these two flat file work tables while I was the Manager of the University of North Dakota's Art Collection.
The project started from a discarded flat file that was more than eight feet tall. It was cut it in half (with the help of a couple friends) and I made two identical units out of it. I made two new tops and redesigned/rebuilt the inner supporting structure.
I apologize for the yellowish photos. The wood-shop where I built this project did not have the best lights for photography.
